I first met Janet Hanson in 2009 when I joined 85Broads, a women’s networking group she founded that now operates as Elevate Network.
I knew back then that Janet Hanson had a storied career on Wall Street starting with being accepted into Goldman Sach’s training program at a time when very few women were accepted. But in all honesty, I did not know the half of it until I read Janet’s new book: Broad Street, My Mostly Bullish Career at Goldman Sachs.
At a time when women’s rights are at risk and we are confronted with the reality that for as far as we have come, we are still fighting for them, I think it’s especially important to be reminded of the barriers women like Janet broke through and how she did that. Whether you lived through those years or are just starting out Janet’s is a fascinating story of - as she says - her mostly bullish career at Goldman Sachs.
